YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The first of 21,000 trash carts will be arriving in Youngstown on Wednesday and from there, the carts will be distributed throughout the city for people to use.
The new 96-gallon carts are dark gray and come with wheels. The city spent $1.2 million to purchase them.
“They’re just a cleaner, more efficient way to contain your garbage and for our sanitation crews to pick up the garbage cans. They add efficiency when the trucks are out picking up the cans, and makes it easier for the drivers to complete their job,” said Abby Beniston, Superintendent of Code Enforcement and Demolition.
The new trash carts will be left at the curb of each customer who has their trash picked up by the City of Youngstown.
The carts will be delivered to homes beginning Wednesday, July 13 through Friday, July 29.
