Future of Lawrence Downs casino project to be decided at board meeting

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will hear a motion to deny the application from Endeka Entertainment

Casinos in Ohio are not bringing in as much tax revenue as originally expected.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WKBN) – Plans to build a casino and racetrack in Lawrence County could come to an end Wednesday.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will hear a motion to deny the application from Endeka Entertainment.

If the recommendation is approved at the board’s meeting, there will be no chance for a casino and racetrack to be built.

Plans for the Lawrence Downs casino in Mahoning Township first came around in 2004, but developers could never come up with the money to build the multi-million dollar facility.
