LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – The driver of a bus was cited after colliding with a motorcycle Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Troy Walsh, 44, of Niles, was traveling east on Tibbetts-Wick Road at about 6 a.m. when a bus, driven by Richard Suriano, 72, of Epysville, Pa., failed to yield while making a left turn onto the Route 11 southbound ramp.
Walsh attempted to avoid hitting the bus and laid his motorcycle down. The bus and motorcycle collided at the intersection to the ramp.
Walsh was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, but he is expected to be OK.
Suriano and his eight passengers were not injured.
Suriano was cited for failure to yield.
Traffic on Tibbetts Wick Road to Route 11 south was diverted for about an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.
The ramp re-opened about 7:10 a.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
