YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man has been charged with drug trafficking after police said several bags of marijuana were found during an inventory of a car.
Elijah Alexander, 27, was stopped while turning onto Bennington Avenue from East High around 2:50 p.m. Monday. Police said Alexander failed to use a turn signal and was speeding before he was stopped.
Police said Alexander had a suspended driver’s license.
Police said while conducting inventory of the vehicle prior to towing it, five large Ziploc bags full of marijuana were found in the trunk of the car.
Alexander told police a friend rented the car for him, but when asked who handled the rental he told police, “don’t worry about who rented the car,” according to a police report.
Alexander was taken to Mahoning County Jail and additionally charged with driving under suspension and turn signal.
