YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police said one person was taken to the hospital Thursday after a drive-by shooting on the south side of Youngstown.

The shooting happened in the 400 block of W. Warren Avenue just before 4 p.m.

The victim was on the sidewalk in front of the house when someone in a car shot at him and drove away, according to police.

“The individual…was shot at least one time. The vehicle sped off and there’s multiple casings in the street,” Lt. Doug Bobovnyik said.

Police said the victim, who was shot in the leg, went inside the home and was later taken out by EMS crews. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.

Seven Youngstown Police vehicles were on the scene, and crime scene tape blocked off four lots and the street.

Police do not have a description of the vehicle where the shots came from.
