(WFLA) — IKEA has announced a recall of more than 100,000 safety gates and safety gate extensions due to a fall hazard.

The Patrull Safety Gate and extension, Patrull Klamma Safety Gate and extension, and Patrull Fast Safety Gate are being recalled. IKEA says the locking mechanism can open unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to children and other consumers.

The three recalled safety gates were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online at http://www.ikea-usa.com from August 1995 through June 2016 for between $10 and $60.

Consumers should stop using them immediately and return them back to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required.
