YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Mahoning County Jail inmate who investigators said tried to choke a deputy has been indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury.

Lucky Mitchell faces attempted murder and felonious assault charges.

Police say Mitchell violently attacked Deputy Anthony Lucas, and the assault was captured on surveillance video at the jail.

Police said Mitchell made a homemade noose out of his t-shirt and tried to strangle Lucas with it. He was pulled off the deputy by two other inmates.

Mitchell was initially charged with felonious assault, but investigators said additional charges were being pursued.
