YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police arrested a Youngstown woman Thursday after they said her toddler was found near a busy street, unattended.
Lisa Patrick, 34, is charged with child endangering and resisting arrest.
Officers responded to Loveland Road just before noon. A 911 caller said four children were on the front porch of Patrick’s home, and one climbed over a wooden gate and into the street.
Police found the child, who they said looked to be about 2 or 3 years old, on the sidewalk watching the cars. They said it was a busy time of day and there was a lot of traffic on the street.
Officers said Patrick answered when they knocked on the door, and told them it was okay for the child to be out because her three other children were with him. She told police he must have snuck outside after the others came in.
She refused to answer questions about the child’s last name and age, according to a police report.
Patrick is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
