GREENVILLE, Pa. (WKBN) – The bridge on North Race Street over the Little Shenango River in Greenville will be closed to traffic on July 28.
Closure of the bridge, which is being replaced, was anticipated to occur this week, but the closure date had been extended.
The 95-year-old, structurally deficient bridge is located on North Race Street, north of the intersection with Main Street and south of the intersection with Allen Avenue.
The road is scheduled to be open to traffic on December 15, 2016, although some final paving and re-vegetation work will be completed in the spring of 2017.
A detour will be required when the bridge closes. The posted detour will use Main Street, College Avenue and Alan Avenue.
