The driver of a car was shot while they were driving near DuPont and Hammaker streets just before 10 p.m. Tuesday

The driver of a car was shot while driving near DuPont and Hammaker Streets in Youngstown.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Police are investigating a homicide after a man was shot on the city’s north side Tuesday night.

The victim was identified Wednesday by police as 20-year-old Ralph Thomas.

Police said Thomas was shot while he was driving near the Brier Hill Annex Apartments just before 10 p.m.

The car then crashed into a pick-up truck. It is unknown whether or not the truck was involved in the shooting.

Thomas was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. He died shortly after.

Police said they have no suspects and no one is under arrest. They are asking that if you have any information to call them at 330-742-8929.
