YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be Friday August 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Samuel P. Washington, 86, of Youngstown, who passed away on Monday July 25, 2016.
Mr. Washington was born December 18, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Samuel and Clara Frye Washington.
He was married to the former Geraldine P. McClendon.
He was a retired Navy Veteran and worked for General Electric.
Samuel enjoyed playing pool, gardening and grilling. He loved all types of sports. Samuel was a big supporter of all his nieces and nephews in their sports activates.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Samuel P. Washington Jr. of Portsman, Virginia; one brother, Thomas Washington; a granddaughter, Tawin McClendon of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends, he will be missed.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethal E. Washington, who died in 2001; five brothers, Sanford, Curtis, Carl, Sherman and James Washington; two sisters, Clara Blunt and Gladys Ballinger.
