Ohio Means Jobs helps match companies with job seekers

Ohio Means Jobs can match unemployed workers with growing and in-demand careers.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Ohio Means Jobs can match unemployed workers with growing and in-demand careers. It can also help companies who are looking for workers.

Ohio Means Jobs is a good place to begin a job search. Its online search engine can help you find a job. In fact, 100,000 jobs are available.

It’s also a place where employers can find workers.

“Employers are always looking for qualified employees,” said Mary Ann Kochalko, chief operating officer of Mahoning and Columbiana County’s One Stop. “A lot of them don’t have the H.R. department to do the work themselves, so they rely on us to help them with their recruitment.”

Ohio Means Jobs helps match companies with job seekers, giving them an opportunity for a dream job. But it also can do the match-making much easier.

“Of course we can post jobs on Ohio Means Jobs, but in addition to that we can offer them facilities if they want to come here and conduct their interviewing,” Kochalko said.

That’s usually when they get a large response to an ad, plus Ohio Means Jobs can also give tests to potential workers. It also helps new employers moving into an area, if the company doesn’t have local representation in town.

“We have staffing agencies come in here and use our facilities, then we have employers who are looking for long-term employees. There’s quite a range of people that we try to help,” Kochalko said.

Ohio Means Jobs has programs for specific groups, and it’s a major resource for workers and companies looking to hire. It can help companies improve their workforce or even prepare for hiring an employee with disabilities.
