YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A former Youngstown State University football player has been indicted on charges related to the alleged assault of a Youngstown police officer.

Kintrell Disher is charged with assault and resisting arrest.

He was arrested in June after police said he pushed an officer and ran away. Police had asked Disher and another man to get out of the roadway on Federal Street, saying they were impeding traffic.

Disher told the officer, “You better get your mind right,” before pushing him and running away, according to a police report. He was pepper sprayed and taken into custody.

Disher was on YSU’s football team for a few years until 2015, according to YSU’s website.
