Police: Warren teen shot, killed father

Police in Warren are investigating a shooting where at least one person was shot

One person was shot on Hunter Street in Warren, Ohio.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A teenager has been charged with aggravated murder in the shooting of her father at their Hunter Street N.W. home.

Brandi Meadows called police about 3:46 a.m. Thursday and told them that her 14-year-old daughter, Bresha Meadows, shot her husband, identified as 41-year-old Jonathan Meadows, Sr. in the head.

Meadows died as a result of his injuries.

Bresha remains in custody at the Trumbull County Juvenile Detention Center

Investigators say there were several witnesses home at the time, including Brandi Meadows and four other children.

Detectives are currently in the early stages of the investigation, trying to figure out who the gun belonged to and what led up to deadly shooting.

“That’s undetermined right now. We have to look further into it to decide, so that’s pending,” said Warren Police Capt. Robert Massucci.

A relative of the family said there has been a history of abuse in the home, which may have led to the shooting. Court records show that Jonathan Meadows had been charged with domestic violence in 2011 — a case that was later dismissed by his wife.

Massucci said police are investigating those claims and say they have not received reports that Bresha Meadows had been abused.

She is due back in juvenile court next week.
