WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren tech organization is getting some extra money to help grow green energy and natural resource production.

The Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center (TBEIC) received a $25,000 check Thursday from the Western Reserve Port Authority.

The Port Authority said it plans to give $25,000 to TBEIC each year for four years. The money is a local match to state funding.

“We’re just very pleased to have this local commitment. It shows that the local community is behind what we do,” said Dave Nestic, chief executive of TBEIC.

Part of the money will go to building a new laboratory in TBEIC’s facility.
