Angiuli’s Farm overwhelmed by community support after fire

Angiuli's Farm continues to sell produce after the fire with a stand in front of the farm on Route 46.

GREEN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – While investigators are still looking into what caused the fire at Angiuli’s Farm Market on Route 46 last week, the family business is still selling its fresh produce at a stand in front of the ruins.

The produce stand located right in front of what remains of the popular farm is open seven days a week. There is a steady stream of customers buying corn, tomatoes and peppers, all grown at Angiuli’s.

The family says they are overwhelmed by the community’s support.

“Our customers, they just came in and they embrace us,” Rita Angiuli said. “The whole community, thank you so much to the community, so many beautiful people. If it were not for them, we wouldn’t be here.”

Jim Robinson, of Canfield, says the Angiulis have always been wonderful to him.

“They have been great people. There have been some times I have come in for something special, like I need fresh basil for something. They run out the field and pick it for me.”

Farmers are also helping the family get back on their feet in whatever way they can.

“Everybody came down, all volunteer…and they just put the building up, everybody, all the farmers. They say, ‘What do you need?’ Everybody came and helped,” Rita said.

The burnt debris is still a clear reminder of what happened to the farm, but progress is being made. The Angiulis say they are going to start using a brand new, big white tent to sort their vegetables.
