AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mrs. Annie Doris Adams will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams departed this life August 9, 2016, at her residence in Austintown, surrounded by her loving family.

Annie was born September 6, 1948, in Youngstown, a daughter of Isiah and Osceola Greenlee Taylor Sr.

She was formerly employed with several nursing homes, Youngstown State University and she was the proud owner and operator of Annie’s Daycare Center. She was a former member of the Rising Star Baptist Church.

Annie was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She had a winning smile and a loving heart, especially towards children and was a “Mom” to many on Crandall Avenue. Doris will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 44 years, Leroy Adams Jr.; seven loving children, Elaine Solomon of Columbus, Ronald (Millie) of Maryland, Vernon (Jhoyia) Solomon of Columbus, Ronnette (Leonard) Meyers of Maryland, Leroy of Maryland, Keith of Warren, Tamica (Robert) Nichols of North Carolina; her sisters, Betty (Fred) Smith, Mattie Taylor and Brenda Wright of Youngstown; 19 grandchildren, including Teanna Adams and Mikayla Clarett, whom she helped rear; eight great-grandchildren; a special niece, whom she helped rear, LaShawn (Theo) Williams; her mother-in-law, Louise Adams of Youngstown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sherry (Charles) Robinson, Renea (Sherwood) Jackson and Kevin Adams; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Isiah Jr., Willie, and Nathaniel Taylor; and her father-in-law, Leroy Adams Sr.

Friends may call Friday, August 12 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 13 from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the church.
