WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and the Second Baptist Church House of Hope have teamed up to bring people to the Warren Farmers Market on Courthouse Square.

The city is considered a “food desert” because of the limited availability of fresh produce.

Now, Warren residents who do not have access to transportation can get a free ride to the weekly market.

“Our elderly and urban population are often underserved to have availability to have fresh fruits and vegetables, produce,” Rev. Todd Johnson said. “We are trying to use some programming, encourage them to come out and take advantage of that, as opposed to your local corner market or store where the food may not be as fresh.”

The Warren Farmers Market is held every Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m.

To set up a ride to the market, call the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership at 330-599-9275.
