CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – Police arrested a man who they said led them on a chase through Campbell, Youngstown and Liberty Thursday afternoon.
Clifford Raynovich, 37, of Campbell, is charged with obstructing justice and failure to comply to order or signal of a police officer, along with several traffic violations.
An officer tried pulling Raynovich’s vehicle over on Coitsville Road in Campbell around 2:30 p.m. for a traffic offense.
The officer said Raynovich initially pulled over, but sped away when the police vehicle pulled up behind him.
He continued driving at high speed along Wilson Avenue into Youngstown, according to a police report.
The officer said Raynovich was not following any traffic laws as he recklessly drove through the city.
Raynovich pulled into a driveway on Belmont Avenue, then got out of his vehicle and started running into a wooded area, according to a police report.
The officer lost sight of him, and Campbell and Liberty Police came out to help with the search. They found Raynovich further down on Belmont, where he started running again.
Officers warned that they would send a K9 after him if he didn’t stop. They said Raynovich was still not following orders, so they sent the dog out to catch him.
He was treated for a dog bite and taken to Campbell City Jail.
