YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Mrs. Carrie Bell McKinney, 96, of Youngstown, who departed this life Thursday, August 11, 2016.
Mrs. McKinney, affectionately known as “B”, was born August 16, 1919 in Woodland, Georgia, a daughter of William and Sula Chambers Bryant.
She had worked at Graybar Electric, Hughes Appliance, Buckeye Elks Day Care was a cook at the United Methodist Community Center (ABC Corral Daycare) and a private family, retiring in 1996.
She was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Carrie enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling, but most of all she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Willie G. McKinney, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, Anna G. Grhim, Evelyn Clay and Jerry McKinney all of Youngstown, and Randolph McKinney and his wife, Sharon of Meadville Pennsylvania; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren 35 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie G., Sr., whom she married December 26, 1939 and who passed away January 1981; three brothers, James, Jesse, and Hardie Bryant; and a sister, Myla Rolax; two grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
