WARREN, OH (WKBN) – It is officially game week in the Valley! We are now just days away from the high school football season kicking off here in the Valley and for the seventh straight year, coaches in Trumbull County got together for dinner and to talk about the upcoming season.
It was the seventh annual Pigskin Preview put on by the Warren Sports Hall of Fame at DiLucia’s in Warren.
Over a dozen schools were represented from Southington to Liberty as former Warren G. Harding standout George Kearney spoke to the crowd.
Each staff had a chance to talk about each of their teams’ strengths heading into the new campaign.
“Excitement is at an all-time high,” says first-year Champion head coach Nick Wagner.
“Nerves a little bit already. We are, what? Six days, five days already now? The kids are excited; they are antsy; they are looking forward to get ready to face Waterloo. As a coaching staff, we are ready to go. We have had two good scrimmages, and it is exciting to finally kickoff for real.”
“You know this is always a great time because everyone is unbeaten,” said Southington head coach Bill Bohren. “We are really looking forward to the year, and I think we have a nice football team.”
