CHAMPION, Ohio – Robert H. Doan, 83, of Champion, Ohio formerly of Southington, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Windsor House in Champion.
He was born March 10, 1933, in Union City, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edward Doan and Lucy (McCray) Doan Gorman.
He was a member of the Southington Christian Church. Robert was an electrician and had served as the business agent for IBEW Local #573. Bob also served as a board member for the Southington Schools. Bob proudly served in the Naval Reserve for eleven years.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family.
Robert’s memory will be carried on by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Joy Collier Doan, whom he married April 4, 1954; three daughters, Debra Feldhouse of Smithfield, North Carolina, Patricia (Bill) Drury of Southington, Ohio and Cheryl (Tom) Durig of Selma, North Carolina; two sons, Robert E. (Gina) Doan of Southington, Ohio and Kenneth (Terry) Doan of Vacaville, California; along with 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Doan; a grandson, Christopher Manos; and three brothers, Frank, John and James Doan.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Southington Christian Church, 3285 State Route 534 Southington, Ohio.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 Noon on Thursday at the church.
Interment will be in the Southington Graham cemetery.
