Boil alert issued for several streets in Salem

The alert will be in effect until water samples indicate it is safe to consume

SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) РSome Salem residents are under a boil alert Tuesday night after a leak repair in the area.

Salem Police says the alert only affects certain streets in the city:

  • Benton Road from the bypass north to Garfield Road
  • Beechwood Road for customers on the city water system
  • Countryside Drive
  • Colonial Drive
  • Hampton Place
  • Salem Parkway West
  • Quaker Court

Police say that any residents and businesses affected will be given a written notice.

The alert will be in effect until water samples indicate it is safe to consume. Customers will be given another written notice once it is lifted.
