Classes are canceled at St. Christine School due to the death of a student.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Due to the death of a student, classes are canceled Tuesday at St. Christine’s School in Youngstown.

School officials confirmed that grief counselors will be in the building beginning at 9 a.m. for anyone who wishes to meet with them.

Mahoning County Deputy Coroner Dr. Joseph Ohr said the death involved a 13-year-old girl, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He said the girl was dreading the start of school and had left behind an apologetic and loving note for her parents.

Police have not confirmed that bullying caused the girl to commit suicide, and the school would provide no further details.
