Man shot on south side in Youngstown

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Jesse Bailey

A man was hot in the thigh on the south side of Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man was shot on the south side of Youngstown early Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim as 26-year-old Jesse Bailey.

Witnesses told police that Bailey was jumped about 12:30 a.m. by three men and shot near Cambridge and Homestead avenues. He suffered a bullet wound to his thigh.

Bailey went to a family member’s house and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was being treated Thursday afternoon, but police said he was in stable condition Thursday morning.

He told police he had no idea why anyone would want to kill him.

No suspects have been named.
