NILES, OH (WKBN)- There were plenty of points in the opener of the 16th season of the High School Football Game of the Week. Both offenses proved to be in high gear with Niles outlasting Girard 47-26. The game lasted 4 hours and 26 minutes because of several lightning delays that plagued the evening.
Sophomore Robby Savin stole the show, rushing for 147 yards and four total touchdowns in the win. That includes a 77-yard fumble return for a score.
Red Dragons Quarterback Tyler Srbinovich completed 10-13 passes for 112 yards with two touchdowns. He also rushed for 57 yards in the victory.
Marlon Pearson finished with 5 receptions for 71 yards on the night.
Girard Quarterback Mark Waid completed 8-16 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns. He also racked up 55 yards on the ground.
