NEW WATERFORD, Ohio – Carl A. Betke, 80, of State Route 46 in New Waterford, passed away August 25, 2016 at the Salem Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Carl was born May 7, 1936 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, son of the late Alfred and Louanna Barkley Betke.
He was a veteran of the US Army and worked in the construction field.
When not working, he enjoyed tinkering and repairing almost anything, and spent his life putting others before himself. He most enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Davis who he married April 3, 1957. He is also survived by two daughters, Vicky (Tom) Reppy of North Jackson and Carla (John) Amann of Austintown; son, Randy (Heather) Betke of Brooklyn, Ohio; three brothers, Jim (Judy) Betke, Harry (Joyce) Betke and Roy Betke; four sisters, Jean Gray, Pat (Chuck) Hawkins, Wanietta (Robert) McNeill and Wanda (Jim) Roberts; as well as grandchildren, Courtney (J.R.), Chris, John, Tianna, Brandi, and one great grandson, Trey.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
