CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – David Frederick Lachowski, 73, of Charlotte and formerly of Warren, entered into eternal life Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:30 p.m. at Novant Medical Center Matthews Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, North Carolina under the comforting care of hospice.
David was born on November 21, 1942 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania the son of the late Stanely and Josephine (Novelli) Lachowski.
He grew up in Warren and after graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy, with his best friend Louie Gorsick.
David was a disc jockey for a short time at a local radio station and then went on to work for Packard Electric. He retired and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1996.
David was of the Catholic faith and a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Warren.
David is survived by his wife of 38 years the former Carolyn F. Buterbaugh whom he married on December 3, 1977; four children Jeffrey (Kelly) Lachowski and David Lachowski of Warren; Vanessa Lachowski of the home and Mia Davis of Charlotte; his siblings Joan (Tom Muszynski) Hinkle of Gainesville, Florida, Teresann (Jack) Clark of McDonald, Rinajo “Rina” (Drew) Verbosky of Howland Twp, and Stanley (Sandy) Lachowski Jr. of Bend, Oregon; and five grandchildren Ashley, Alex, Alexis, and Natali Lachowski and Magdalene Davis.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 9:00 – 10:50 a.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44481.
An Order of Christian Burial Service will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Christopher Henyk, pastor of St. John Paul II Parish in Warren, officiating. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in David’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 9, Warren, Ohio 44484.
