BUTLER TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – A car crash in Columbiana County Thursday afternoon caused a Youngstown man to be thrown from his vehicle after it rolled over.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident happened just after 3 p.m. on State Route 9 in Butler Township.

They said one driver turned out of a driveway, when another swerved off the road to avoid hitting him.

When the second driver got back on the road, he went left of center and hit the Youngstown man’s vehicle, according to Highway Patrol.

The Youngstown man’s vehicle flipped over, and he was thrown onto the roadway. Highway Patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center by helicopter.

The other driver was treated at the scene.

Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
