WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The victim of a shooting early Sunday morning told police not to investigate the crime.

Police were called to Trumbull Memorial Hospital to speak with the gunshot victim who reported being shot near the Powerhouse Bar in Warren around 3 a.m. The 22-year-old man told police he did not want them to get involved and said he was not concerned about the incident.

He did tell officers that he was standing in the parking lot when he heard a gunshot from far away and realized he had been shot in the leg. According to a police report, he did not believe the shot was meant for him and said he was a random victim. He admitted to getting into an argument earlier but doubted that the shooting was related.

Staff at the bar said they were unaware of any shooting that took place, and police were unable to find any evidence.
