BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Around 11 a.m. Saturday morning, a car crashed into the Boost Mobile store on Boardman-Poland Road along Route 224.
The owner of the store, Ashraf Salman, said a woman was trying to leave, but instead of backing out she accidentally had the car in drive when she hit the gas.
When the car crashed, two customers and one worker were inside, but nobody was hurt.
One side of the building was damaged and a window was broken, but due to the help of local first responders, the owner said he did get some good news.
“Boardman Fire Department, for coming out so quickly and getting things cleaned up, and we’re still open for business,” Salman said.
The damage still has to be looked at by contractors before Salman can receive an estimate for the cost of those damages, which could take a few days.
But, he said the store will remain open during that process to help customers.
“We’re just thankful nobody was hurt,” Salman said.
