Newton Falls shuts out Jackson-Milton; Wright rushes for 187

Newton Falls will open their home schedule against Mineral Ridge next week.

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WKBN) – Newton Falls’ junior Bill Wright reached the endzone three times as the Tigers registered their first win of the season 21-0 at Jackson-Milton. Wright gained 187 yards rushing on 17 attempts.

As a team, the Tigers rushed for 365 yards and threw for another 89. Quarterback Braden Bungard completed 7 of 10 for 89 yards. Bungard also ran for 76 yards on 12 carries. Freshman Jacob Wright finished his night on defense with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Jackson-Milton managed 137 yards of total offense. Jonathon Voland led the Jays in rushing with 28 yards (3 attempts). Voland and Zak Lane combined to pass for 45 yards on 10 of 23 pass attempts.
