YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown City School District is extending its waiver on the student dress code policy to gather more feedback from parents, students and community members.

CEO Krish Mohip said the waiver will apply through Friday, September 30, meaning all students can continue to wear regularly approved clothes to school through the end of the month. Parents are being sent home letters that explain the extension.

Mohip also plans to hold a community meeting before September 30 to discuss and clarify the dress code policy with families and the community. The date and time of that meeting has not yet been announced.

Previously, the district announced it was waiving the dress code policy for all students in the first three weeks of the new school year, which would have ended September 9.
