YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man was sentenced to one year in jail after he was convicted of child endangering last month.

Police said Thomas Quimby drank an entire bottle of vodka and passed out while his one-year-old daughter fell out of a second story window at the family’s home last year. Police arrived at the home to find a two-year-old child trying to climb out of the same window.

The child was taken to the hospital but didn’t have major injuries.

In addition to the jail time, Judge Maureen Sweeney sentenced Quimby to pay $2,000 in fines.
