Car hits tree, house, porch; driver escapes serious injury

Accident, crash generic

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) – Police say a driver escaped serious injury after his car ran over a tree, bounced off the front door of a central Pennsylvania house and overturned on a neighbor’s new porch.

LNP newspapers reports that firefighters in Lancaster had to stabilize the car on its side after the accident shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

They then had to remove the roof of the car to extricate the driver. City police said the driver was taken to Lancaster General Hospital but wasn’t seriously injured.

Officials said the car mowed over a large cedar tree and smashed into the front door of the house, then spun around and landed on its side on the porch.
