Tyler History Center hosting free event to celebrate second anniversary

The "Wheels of Steel" exhibit at the Tyler History Center in downtown Youngstown looks at car culture in the Mahoning Valley.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Tyler History Center in downtown Youngstown is celebrating its second anniversary Sunday.

The open house celebration starts at noon and runs until 4:00 p.m. The event is free.

There will be a cruise-in car show, food trucks, music and games and activities for the kids.

The museum is always changing its exhibits to display the rich history of Youngstown.

This is the last time visitors can catch the Wheels of Steel display.

“It’s a collection that’s all loaned to us from different, uh, car enthusiasts in the valley, different car clubs, individuals that collect different memorabilia,” said Leann Rich of the Tyler History Center.

The display focuses on the history of the car culture such as racing in the valley and custom hot rods.
