YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Business Incubator held a program Wednesday night to showcase women in sports and how they can be successful.

“Breaking Boundaries” featured two local female sports legends: San Francisco 49ers owner Denise DeBartolo York and NHL goalie Manon Rheaume.

They told the crowd that being in the sports business is all about taking risks.

“Get educated, stay focused, work hard, know exactly what you want to do and have people around you you can trust, who have the same moral compass that you do,” DeBartolo York said.

She and Rheaume shared stories with the group about staying strong in a business that’s been transforming. They said it is not just a man’s world anymore, and that women are becoming more powerful in the sports industry every day.
