BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Teachers union leaders in Ohio are urging voters to support Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump this November.
A handful of members from the “Educators for Clinton” group met reporters outside the Democratic nominee’s campaign office in Boardman Wednesday morning.
When asked what they hope to see Clinton do to help the struggling Youngstown City School District, they said they want to see a unified approach all over the country.
“Every single good idea has been tried already someplace, but what we don’t have is a commitment to do those things at scale,” said George Sheridan with the National Education Association.
Among the ideas union leaders say they’d like to see is a mentorship program allowing more experienced teachers to work alongside younger educators to help train them.
