NEWTON FALLS, Ohio – Rev. William “Snook” Barnes, Jr., 72, of 4620 Kinsman Road, Newton Falls, departed this life Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 6:46 p.m. at his residence.
He was born October 7, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of William and Inell Shavers Barnes, Sr.
Rev. Barnes was employed as a Minister with First Baptist Church-Braceville for many years and was a self-employed mechanic. He loved to write, and had several poems published.
He was a member of First Baptist Church-Braceville, where he served as Interim Pastor from 2012-2014 and was the Assistant Pastor.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Ms. Inell S. Brimmer of Braceville; three caregivers, Michael A. Peterson and William Clark both of Warren and Ms. Johanna Roseborough of Chicago, Illinois and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, Fred Brimmer, Sr.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Clark and Ms. Marcella Brimmer; and two brothers, Fred Brimmer, Jr. and Edward Brimmer.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church-Braceville.
Calling Hours will be held one hour prior to service (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.).
Burial will take place at Braceville Township Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
