Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren to campaign in Ohio for Clinton

Chelsea Clinton also plans to return to Ohio for a public event in Toledo on Thursday, Sept. 22

AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) – Vermont Senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Northeast Ohio this weekend to campaign for Hillary Clinton.

Sanders plans to stop in the University of Akron and Kent State University on Saturday. Event details and registration are below:

Akron Organizing Event with Bernie Sanders

When: 11:00 a.m.
Doors open to public: 10:00 a.m.
Where: Goodrich Lobby, University of Akron, 198 Hill Street, Akron, OH

Kent Organizing Event with Bernie Sanders

When: 12:30 p.m.
Doors open to public: 11:30 a.m.
Where: Rec Center, Kent State University, 1550 Ted Boyd Dr., Kent, OH

The campaign says he plans to “emphasize Clinton’s plans to support millennials, including making free community college and debt-free college available to all Americans, protecting access to health care for young Americans, reforming the immigration system.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts also plans to campaign for Clinton, as well as Ted Strickland, in Ohio. She will be at public events in Cleveland and Columbus over the weekend.

In Columbus on Saturday, Warren will hold an organizing event on campus at The Ohio State University. She will be joined by Strickland at the Cleveland event, which will be on Sunday, and additional details will be released at a later date.

Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea, also plans to return to the state. She will be in Toledo on Thursday, Sept. 22. People interested in attending can register online.
