Power outage shuts off water for east side of Youngstown

The electric company estimates power will be restored by 12:30 p.m. Thursday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The east side of Youngstown is facing a large-scale water outage after a power outage caused a pump station to stop working.

Areas affected include north of Mccartney Road and east of Early and Liberty roads, according to the Youngstown Water Department. Only Youngstown Water customers in those areas are affected.

When water service is restored, water will have to be boiled until further notice.

The electric company estimates power will be restored by 12:30 p.m. Thursday. A cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
