NILES, Ohio – William Madison Savin, 60, passed away peacefully at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with lung cancer.
Bill was born in Warren on July 13, 1956 the son of William P. and Gayle (Holbrook) Savin.
He was a 1974 graduate of McDonald High School and retired in 2015 as a supervisor at General Motors Lordstown.
He was an avid Cleveland Cavs, Indians and Browns fan and enjoyed traveling to the casinos. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren, watching them play sports and when they visited Niles.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia D. “Tish” (Geho) Savin whom he married on May 17, 1975; his mother, Gayle Savin of Springboro; three sons, William Savin of Middletown, Brad (Tracy) Savin of Springboro, Richard (Kathy) Savin of Springboro; eleven grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Mariah whom he raised in their home, Billy, Tyler, Abby, Madisyn, Zack, Samatha, Sam, Ashley, Nicholas; sister, Judy (Bill) Paden of Springboro; brother, Mitchell (Julie) Savin of Fort Wayne, Indiana and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and especially the GM family.
He was preceded in death by his father and son, Robert Savin, Sr. who passed away on September 15, 2007.
Calling Hours will be Monday, September 19, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions my be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
