The Liberty Leopards move to 1-0 in conference play with a win over Brookfield

The Liberty Leopards opened up conference play with a 27-21 victory over the Brookfield Warriors Friday night. Both teams play in the All-American Conference Blue division.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Liberty Leopards opened up conference play with a 27-21 victory over the Brookfield Warriors Friday night. Both teams play in the All-American Conference Blue division.

Brookfield senior back Xavier Bailey put Brookfield out in front early, scoring from one yard out to give the Warriors a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

The game would go into halftime tied 7-7.

Liberty Quarterback Dra Rushton ran it in from 32 yards out to give Liberty their first lead, 14-7 in the third quarter.

Rushton found the end zone again in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 21-7.

Brookfield (2-2) will host Newton Falls in week five. Liberty (2-2) will travel to Campbell.
