YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Omar Jihad-Baaree (Edwin “Eddie” Underwood), 64, of Youngstown, departed this life Friday, September 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born February 25, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Orie E. and Pearl Eleanor Machen Underwood.
Mr. Jihad-Baaree was employed with the City of Youngstown for several years and the Mahoning County Water Treatment Plant.
He leaves to mourn one daughter, Ms. Ayesha Jihad-Baaree of Chicago, Illinois; one son, he reared, Bashir Jihad-Baaree; his mother, Pearl Underwood of Youngstown; one sister, Ms. Orenda G. Johnson of Boardman; two nephews, Andre Johnson and Olonzo Johnson both of Boardman; two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services were held September 16 by the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown, with burial at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
