YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Lawyers for accused killer Robert Seman are asking Judge Maureen Sweeney to declare a mistrial, dismiss the pool of jurors and move the trial to another county.

Seman is charged with setting the house fire that killed 10-year-old Corinne Gump and her grandparents in March of last year. His lawyers have been arguing the media’s coverage of the case over the last year-and-a-half would make it nearly impossible to find a jury that’s fair and impartial.

Earlier this week, Sweeney ruled that it would be premature to move the case out of the county. She said she would first try to seat an impartial jury here.

There has been a break in interviews with prospective jurors, and Sweeney is likely to consider the new motions on Monday when questioning gets underway again.
