CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, an Amber Alert was issued for two toddlers after their homeless mother burst into the home of their legal guardian, grabbed them and fled.
Stacey Williams, 38, is wanted on charges of burglary with battery and interference with child custody. According to CCSO, her children 3-year-old female Rylan Williams and 1-year-old male Mason Williams were placed by legal court order with another person, who is now their legal guardian.
New information from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office suggests that the children’s mother, Stacey Williams, is traveling with her husband and the children’s father, Ryan Williams. Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said the pair have a volatile relationship and are also drug users. They may be traveling in a white Ford Expedition.
Williams texted that person Saturday insisting on seeing the children. She was told no. Later that day she barged into the house in Lecanto, grabbed and smashed the guardian’s phone when she tried to call 911. Williams also scratched the woman’s face, deputies said.
She picked up her children and carried them away.
The victim wasn’t sure if Williams was driving that day, but she does sometimes drive a white 2004 Ford Expedition with tag DNSC62.
CCSO detectives have received information that the suspect may be headed to West Virginia or Ohio. They alerted the authorities there.
They need your help locating the children. If you see them or the woman, call 911.
