BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Three former restaurants along a 1.7-mile stretch of Route 224 in Boardman have been demolished. New businesses will be settling into two of those locations.

The Arby’s restaurant near the intersection of 224 and Market Street was torn down. Crews are already building a new Arby’s on the same location that is expected to be completed by November.

Then at the Southern Park Mall, what used to be Cheddar’s has been demolished. A BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, which specializes in beer, burgers and deep dish pizza, will be built in its place. The project’s completion date is still unknown.

Further east at South Avenue and 224, the former Park Diner was also demolished over the weekend. The Valvoline will be relocating there, catty-corner from its current location.
