Lakeview blanks Boardman to remain unbeaten

BOARDMAN, OH (WKBN) – The Lakeview boys soccer team remains perfect after the Bulldogs traveled to Boardman and blanked the Spartans 9-0.

Lakeview got off to a fast start, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes of game time.

They opened the scoring off with a throw in that landed at the feet of Noah Busefink, whose shot was deflected in for the game’s first goal.

Minutes later, Busefink would double the Lakeview lead.

Blake Gill used a great run near the sideline and was able to cross a pass into the box to Busefink who put it away to increase the lead to 2-0. Busefink would net a hat trick Tuesday.

Just a short time later, Lakeview netted its third thanks to Daniel Golar tapping home a goal off a set piece from Josh Kelly.

Lakeview improves to 9-0 overall and are ranked fifth in the latest OSSCA State Poll for Division II.

Boardman falls to 0-6-1 on the year.
