ELK RUN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Thomas G. Burke, 74, a longtime resident of Elk Run Township, passed away September 21, 2016 at 8:15 a.m. at Briarfield Manor in Austintown after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 29, 1941 in Virgie, West Virginia, son of the late Theodore and Grace Faulke Burke.
Thomas was a member of the Rogers Assembly of God Church and worked as Machinist for Ventura Plastics in Salem for 40 years before his retirement.
He was an avid fisherman.
He is also survived by four sons; Wayde (Valerie) Burke and David Burke both of Salem, Kevin (Amy) Burke of Atwater and Darren (Lisa) Burke of Rogers; one daughter, Kimberly (Fiance’ Norman) Sharpe of Lake Milton; two sisters, Anna Louise Swanson and Rose Marie McGuire; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Carol Burke; who passed away September 13, 2016, as well as seven brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 23, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine, Ohio.
A private graveside service will be held in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
A television tribute will air Monday, September 26 at the following approximate times:
