Youngstown PD: Woman with suspended license crashed into pole

Some street lights were knocked out after a crash Thursday morning at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Wirt Boulevard

Police said a woman crashed into a telephone pole just after 7 a.m. at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Wirt Boulevard in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Some street lights were briefly knocked out along Belmont Avenue after a car crash there Thursday morning.

Police said a woman crashed into a telephone pole just after 7 a.m. at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Wirt Boulevard in Youngstown. The crash took down a power line.

Officers said the woman involved in the crash was driving without insurance. Her car was heavily damaged.

A portion of the road was closed for more than an hour after the crash, as crews worked to clean up the scene. A medic was called to the scene to check the woman for injuries.

It is unknown whether charges were filed in relation to the crash.
